Background

David M. Rittgers was born and raised in Johnston, Iowa. He attended Johnston High School and completed his undergraduate degree at Bethel University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Following college, David attended Iowa State University, where he obtained a joint Master’s Degree in history and political science.

Following several years in academics, David attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, where he pursued an accelerated degree program and graduated early with honors. David was admitted to the Iowa State Bar Association after receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 2008.

David entered private practice after law school and began practicing with his uncle, Ken Rittgers, who had practiced in Iowa for over 40 years. In 2013, David joined the law firm of Wilson Deege Despotovich Riemenschneider & Rittgers PLC, where he is a partner.
